Congratulations to Mrs. & Mrs. Jesse Stithem! This weekend we went back home for the wedding and had a GREAT time! :) The wedding was beautiful...lots of love, friends, family, dancing, and even a small fire! *Luckily local fireman Bill Dibble was able to put it out using only 2 cups of beer!
We were able to see our parents and even had a chance for them to get together at the wedding on Saturday...it was too much fun! I know I always say it, but it really is so nice to be able to go home and see everybody. I was finally able to see Kinsey's baby bump...she looks great and is very happy to become a mama...early September.
Speaking of soon-to-be moms...Whitney's due date is right around the corner. We are getting pretty excited about it and can't wait for the little girl to get here! :)
On the way back to Kansas City on Sunday we stopped by the Fanchon in Hays and ironed out some details for the reception and signed the contract with them. I can't believe so much is already done...but I know I've only made a small dent. Really looking forward to wedding dress shopping, but think it will have to wait until the end of the summer.
A few weeks ago Bryant bought a Jeep Wrangler and has been tinkering with it most nights...he gets pretty excited to take the top down and drive around town...I've noticed it's alot easier to get him to run errands now! :)
We have a busy couple of weeks ahead, my first final is on Saturday (I have 5 this semester) and Bryant will be heading to Chicago for Schmitty's Bachelor Party. We've got 3 birthdays in the next few weeks...Whitney's, Ruthie's & mine. Unfortunately I will still be in the middle of finals over my birthday so celebrating will have to be postponed. **Not that 24 is much to celebrate!**
All for now...I hear it's supposed to be 85 degrees this weekend...find a porch, open a beer, and think of me, as I will be in a cold, dark library studying. :(

Spring is Here...Maybe
Hello everyone! I'm going to give Bryant a break from blogging and try it again. It doesn't involve stolen vodka or photos with football stars, but bear with me...
We were able to go home last weekend for Whitney's Baby Shower and Easter. The Baby Shower was great...lots of pink stuff! Kayla & Laura did a great job and everything looked amazing. We had Easter with Bryant's family on Saturday night and went to church and had lunch with my family on Sunday. And of course we had a night out at the Duck Blind with Julie & Nate! It was great to see everyone, since we hadn't actually been back since Christmas. My only complaint is that it is just NEVER long enough. It seems like every time we go home it gets harder and harder to leave and head back to KC.
This week is going to be a long one, I am working on my Oral Argument (and FINAL assignment for Lawyering) and Bryant is busy with claims flooding in. Also, finals start in less than two weeks...I can't believe another semester is over already! Last night Bryant fertilized our lawn, so we're looking forward to green grass! Bryant went golfing with Shaun tonight, so Belly & I are hanging out together for the evening. Sounds like he did pretty good...same score as last week!
I finally found an apartment in Wichita for the summer and will be moving May 16. I'm really excited about the opportunity, but will hate being away from Bryant & Belly all week. I ran for Chief Justice of the Traffic Court at the law school and WON the election! :) This means that I get to grill first year law students as a judge during traffic court, wear a robe, carry a gavel, get a parking spot in the parking garage on campus...and it's paid! Finally a little money for all the time I spend in that building!
We are heading back to Stockton again this weekend for Jesse Stithem's wedding. It's so exciting watching our friends get married! :)
Speaking of weddings...which is ALL I have been doing for the last month...I booked our photographer! :) You can check out their stuff at: http://www.tjstudios.com. They are really great and I'm so excited to have a major part figured out. Need to set a date to do our engagement pictures, but may put that off until the end of the summer.
We have also set a date of July 31, 2010. The ceremony will be at the Catholic Church in Damar and the reception will be at The Fanchon in Hays. I have changed my mind on colors about a million times already...I think I've decided on every color from the spectrum at least once! Still working out the details on bridesmaids/groomsmen. Many more decisions and plans to make...and hopefully I can avoid bugging Bryant too much on wedding discussion! I wish the wedding were sooner, but I am sure the time will fly and before you know it will be here!
Well, that's all for now, Belly won't let me type anymore. He keeps dropping his toys on my keyboard! :)

A Long Time Coming
Notes from March:
We started off a week and a half vacation on 3/11 day, hanging out with friends, playing Rock Band 2, and of course listening to every 311 song ever. We headed to Chicago the next day for a long weekend of hanging out with some college friends, walking around the city, seeing sites, and celebrating St. Patty's Day the Chi-Town way: drinking heavily. We returned home and spent the rest of the week recovering. Luckily, Danielle had Spring Break and I had paid time off (it was a week long recovery).
Sorry ladies, the rumors are true. I asked Danielle to be my wife on Wednesday, March 18th and against her better judgment she said.....YES! Preliminary reports from the fiance-front tell me that our wedding will be sometime late summer of 2010, but nothing set in stone as of yet so keep tuned for more later.
Played in a St. Patty's golf tournament with Dad, Shaun, and Brian Gaul. We didn't play our best, didn't stick around to see the results, but everyone is a winner with the fail-proof combination of golf + beer + outside + beer + golf + beer.
We finally had some weather in the form of severe high winds which meant I actually had to work upon my return to the real world :(
Celebrated Laura DeHaemer's (soon to be Schmidt) birthday by watching Kansas defeat Dayton in the 2nd round of the NCAA tourney at Sharks in Shawnee. Cole Aldrich recorded KU's first official triple double. Sherron and Cole: ONE MORE YEAR!!!! Lance Stephenson: COME ON DOWN!!!!
Watched Kansas bow out of the NCAA tourney against Michigan State in the Sweet 16 w/ Whit & Shaun. I yelled at the TV a lot. Perhaps taught Baby Fuller her first words? Time will tell. Sorry Whit!
Enjoyed the freak ice storm on Saturday. Didn't leave the house or do anything at all. It was splendid.
Met with Mom, Grandma Ostmeyer and all the Ostmeyer Aunts and Uncles at IHOP on Sunday for breakfast. Good to see everyone.
Enjoyed watching Tiger come from 5 back to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational today. Awesome to see Tiger back on top of his game. Can't wait for the Masters.
About all for now. Left plenty out, most probably not family friendly anyway.
Until next time,
Bryant, Danielle, & Belly

Barrister's Ball (aka Law Prom) and the stolen bottle of vodka - A post by Bryant
Last night we attended the Barrister's Ball, which was held in the Crystal Room of the Eldridge Hotel. We had pre-dinner and cocktails at Yokohama Sushi Japanese Restaurant then headed to the ball. We were the first to arrive (see photo) and there was an open bar with free beer and wine. Soon however the place was packed and inebriated law students were cutting up the rug. In addition to the free beer and wine you could purchase liquor drinks. Needless to say it did not take long for the beer and wine to run dry. This in addition to my lack of boobs made getting a drink pretty difficult. I might not have even been there according to the bartenders. So I did what any ignored/impatient person might do at an open bar. I pocketed a bottle of Svedka that was on display. It was quite smooth I must admit and I even stayed put for a while trying to get a drink to no avail. Finally Danielle appeared wondering where I was. Quite proud of myself I iterated my heist to Danielle and she promptly told me to get lost and took over drink duty. I stashed the Svedka in Danielle's purse and continued enjoying the party. So stealing a bottle of vodka is no big deal right? Apparently it is. They all but shut. the party. down...for a bottle of vodka.
The bartenders quit serving drinks.
The DJ quit playing music.
They made an announcement that the ball would not continue until the bottle of vodka was returned.
I know at this point Danielle has to be freaking out (coming to the realization that she can't take me anywhere) and I don't want to be 'that guy' that gets kicked out of the law prom. Determined not to ruin Danielle's career before it even starts, I sprang into action, doing what any chivalrous man would. I re-pocketed the bottle from Danielle's purse, calmly walked to the middle of the crowded dance floor, and set the bottle down. It was even smoother than the actual heist. No one saw a thing. Eventually someone noticed the bottle, returned it to the bar and the party resumed.
Now, after the fact, I can freely admit that I was the one that stole the bottle of vodka. It would be a better story if I had gotten away with it, but in a way I kinda did, in that I didn't get caught. I guess that will teach me to mess with law students.
In an unrelated topic: while at the Eldridge I reserved room 506 for St. Patty's Day night (seemed like a good idea while I was intoxicated). Check out this website for the history of the hotel.
Perhaps I'll bring Belly along as a guard dog, haha.
All for now.....

P.S. Danielle got a summer job. That pays real money. Very proud of her.

The Weekend Always Has to End
Hello everybody! We hope everyone was able to enjoy this weekend as much as we did.
We went to the KU game this weekend and had a GREAT time. **In case you missed it, of course the Jayhawks won!** I hadn't been to the Fieldhouse in a quite awhile, so I was glad to be back in such an amazing place. Bryant wanted the game to go into overtime just so we wouldn't have to leave quite yet. We hung out in Lawrence most of the day, relaxing, eating, drinking, and enjoying ourselves as much as possible! We also got to check out the National Championship Trophy, as well as, the Orange Bowl Trophy! WOW...they are beautiful! :)
This past week was an exhausting one! I went to Wichita for two interviews and ended up getting an offer from one of them. I still have another interview this coming week on Tuesday at a law firm in Kansas City, so I haven't accepted quite yet. I can't believe I'm actually considering moving to Wichita for the summer, but hopefully it will all be worth it in the end! **By the way, for those who don't know, I am interviewing for a legal clerkship position in a law firm for the summer**
Bryant, on the other hand, has had a pretty easy week. He had a few meetings for work, but other than that he hasn't had very many claims come in lately...lucky! Although, I think he's starting to get cabin fever from staying at home so much, but I guess it's better than the stress of all those angry insureds calling all day long! His after-hours shift is over and hopefully he won't have to do it again for a few months! Until a claim comes in, he just gets to keep hanging out at home with Belly! :) No wonder Belly loves him more...
Now for some exciting news...Whitney & Shaun are definitely having a baby GIRL! They had a second sonogram this week to confirm. We couldn't be more excited for them! I'm so glad that I have an excuse to buy all those cute baby clothes and Bryant is thinking about becoming a "stay-at-home uncle" once she comes! Due date is June 19, 2009...just a week after Bryant's birthday!
Ruthie came into town this weekend, so that she could go to Whitney's sonogram. It was great seeing her...we had alot of fun with them both Friday & Saturday nights! It never seems like she gets to stay long enough though. Everytime she comes it makes us miss home and we can't wait to go back soon so that we can see everybody!
Have a ton going on this week, including the Law Prom! We're really excited about it! They are having it at the Eldrige in Lawrence, so it should be alot of fun...too bad I don't actually fit into any of my old prom dresses...ha! Guess it's a good excuse to buy a new dress! :)
Alright, I talk too much...Bryant can do the next blog!

Happy Valentine's Day
Hey everybody...Happy Valentine's Day! :) We hope you are all having a great day and enjoying the great weather. (Is this REALLY February?!)
Bryant & I are having a great Valentine's Day so far, woke up around 9 (were able to sleep in a little) made egg sandwiches...yum! Then in the spirit of our diet, we had lean cuisines for lunch! :( We also already exchanged our gifts...I gave Bryant tickets to a KU game (including one for myself of course) and he gave me 3 pairs of pajamas! We are going to continue to lay around this afternoon and watch the Jayhawks beat the Wildcats! After our big win (and we will win) we are going to dinner in Lawrence at a restaurant called Pachamama's. They are serving a 6 course meal tonight and we are so excited! I have never had a 6 course "fancy" meal so this should be interesting...I am unable to pronounce most of the items on the menu. I'm just hoping I don't end up eating a monkey or something. :)
We have a pretty big week coming up, Bryant is on after-hours and has already gotten 3 claims this morning! (He's already annoyed) I will be working on a Summary Judgment that's due next week and have 2 interviews in Wichita. *cross your fingers* And then next Saturday we're going to the KU v. Nebraska game...we can't wait! Hopefully we'll be able to make it back home to Stockton sometime soon, but right now there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.
That's all for now. Hope everybody enjoys the "commerically made" holiday! We love all of you and wish you a Happy Valentine's Day!
Danielle, Bryant and Belly the Bulldog
P.S. Last night we taught Belly a new trick...drum roll please...he can "double high-five" now! That's right friends...TWO paws at once! :)
